ABOUT

Stepping away from university wasn't part of the plan. It was a difficult decision, one that came with uncertainty, frustration and disappointment. In my year out, I realised I needed something that could offer structure without pressure and that's when I turned to the railways. I have always loved travelling by train and this year seemed the perfect opportunity.
Armed with a railcard, a backpack and time I hadn't asked for, I began travelling across the UK and beyond. Train journeys became a way to reclaim autonomy, to see the world at a pace I could manage, and to reconnect with myself outside of the academic grind. This blog documents those travels: the quiet countryside stations, the gentle rhythm of the tracks and the joy that comes with seeing the landscape shift through a train window. It's a record of recovery and exploration, the railways gave me momentum when everything around me had stalled.
